WE ARE MALABAR! These words are posted throughout the campus of "our high school" which is now being used as a school for 3rd-6th graders. Without a doubt, the building has changed in 50 years. And yes, we have changed . One thing that has not changed: the MALABAR legacy is part of our story. Indeed, WE ARE MALABAR!
Join the CLASS of 1973 as we celebrate our 50th REUNION. We have NOT had a reunion in 20 years. So, in many ways, this is a gathering of strangers who long ago shared time at MALABAR. We have some catching up to do. Plan to meet familiar faces, but for the first time. Be ready to knock off dust from distant school-day memories.
What can you expect? The weekend is a mixture of large group gatherings as well as open blocks of time to connect with friends (old and new) or visit your old stomping grounds..
Local Options: Kingwood Center has a new facility and updated gardens. If you loved the movie Shawshank Redemption, then definitely book a tour at the Mansfield Reformatory where the movie was filmed. It's impressive! Plus there are some fantastic new restaurants in the revitalized Downtown District.
OR, on Saturday, plan to be entertained at the Lakewood Tennis Center in Lexington where you can watch or play tennis and/or pickleball. It will be a great opportunity to connect with classmates and perhaps learn a new sport!
