OMSA's 50th Annual Senior Celebration"Our Legacy"Join us as we commemorate 50 years of OMSA student success! OMSA students and their families are invited to join faculty and staff on Friday, May 12 at 5:30 pm. Under the theme "Our Legacy", this special dinner includes music, a photo booth, awards, speeches, and dinner provided by Caribbean Heritage Catering. Seniors voted on a senior gift which will be revealed and provided to each senior in attendance.Premier dinner menu by Caribbean Heritage Catering Services Jerk Chicken, baked cod, and oxtailTofu stir fryRice and PeasFried PlantainZucchini and butternut squashGreen saladsoda and watercake: coconut and red velvetAwards, Speeches, and Traditions5 awards are given by OMSA staff, recognizing students for qualities such as Leadership, Community Engagement, and Academic AchievementThe Family Pillar Award will be given in honor of the significant contributions, sacrifices, and support a family member has made in the life of a University of Rochester senior supported by OMSA. Students submit a nomination essay and the winner will be revealed at the dinner.Alumni Keynote - an OMSA Alum returns to share experiences and offer insights into life after graduation.Senior Charge - Junior Response is an OMSA tradition. Graduates pass the torch of responsibility and charge the class of 2024 with unfinished business and words of advice or encouragement. Juniors then issue a response to this call.Student Speeches - we open the mic to give Graduates the opportunity to announce future plans and recognize those who have played a significant part in their U of R journey. We cant wait to celebrate with you and your family.
