Description
In recognition of Earth Day, we will screen Anne Belle’s 1976 film Baymen—Our Waters are Dying, which addressed the threat of water pollution to the clam diggers of eastern Long Island, and discuss with marine biologist Kate Rossi-Snook whether conservation efforts implemented since the film’s production have been successful. Kate is the founder of Shelter Island Sustainable Targeted Aquaculture and the Aquaculture Coordinator at Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program's Back to the Bays initiative.
