Contrary to the hype and spins, rodeo events are neither heritage nor tradition. Ranch hands never rode bulls, and the goal of "breaking" horses was to get them to NOT buck. Anyone who′d jerk a calves′ neck at the end of a rope, roughly pick it up, and slam it to the ground, would be fired on the spot (or worse). Rodeo is simply an insidious, profiteering by-product of side shows, aka "Wild West" shows at the expense of animals.
