Description

Every other month Chattanooga Faith + Work + Culture (CFWC) will be hosting Lunch + Learn events for working professionals in the Chattanooga area to engage. Our 2022-23 Lunch + Learn theme is Re-Imagining Work. The last two years have caused us all to re-evaluate how we define meaningful work. CFWC desires to provide a space for earnest believers to wrestle with what meaningful work looks like in their context and how the gospel informs the decisions, actions, and mindset we bring to the office. In the final installment of our Re-Imagining Work series we have the privilege of hearing from Dr. Phil Roundy and Dr. Scott Quatro sharing on how Christians should think about success in business. We hope you will come and imagine with us what it means for Christians to have a holistic perspective of the business endeavors they undertake. Dr. Scott A. Quatro is Professor of Management and Chair of the Business Department at Covenant College. As a behavioral scientist and strategist, Dr. Quatro engages in consultancy work with the senior executive teams of various corporations. His latest book is the 2nd Edition of Executive Ethics. He serves on the peer-review boards of the Journal of Business Ethics and the Journal of Biblical Integration in Business. He previously served as Chair of the Christian Business Faculty Association. He holds a BA in English from Pepperdine University, an MBA from the College of William and Mary, and a PhD in Human Resource Development from Iowa State University. Dr. Philip T. Roundy is the UC Foundation Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). Prior to coming to UTC, he was a Postdoctoral Scholar in the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on understanding how entrepreneurship can be a tool for economic and community renewal. He is particularly interested in entrepreneurs who seek to revitalize struggling cities and “dying” industries. Through his research and consulting, he has worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs and early-stage investors across North America. He has published over 50 articles appearing in journals such as Academy of Management Perspectives, Strategic Organization, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Business Venturing Insights, and Journal of Business Research and serves on several editorial boards, including Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Small Business Economics, Strategic Organization, and Entrepreneurship Research Journal. He received his Ph.D. in Corporate Strategy from the University of Texas at Austin.
