It’s the time of the year to gather for the free annual Metro CERT event! If you have come to the event in the past, you know that it’s a great way to meet, connect, and engage with others interested in clean energy. Attendees vary in occupation and involvement but have one thing in common: passion for clean energy! We see folks from local governments, community-based organizations, utilities, state agencies, small or clean energy focused businesses and people generally interested in clean energy. Each year feels like a welcoming reunion, and it is certainly time to reunite in person in 2023! We especially encourage new attendees. It’s a great opportunity to learn, network, and have fun. Additionally, 2023 marks 20 years for the CERTs partnership! We will be celebrating the “20th CERTs-iversay" at this event. One way we plan to celebrate is with CERT-o, our very own bingo card you can use at the event and win some swag! Biking and Walking: There are concrete sidewalks and asphalt trails leading to the Community Center. Electric Vehicles: There are 4 level two EV charging cords located in the middle of the public parking lot for the Community Center. Parking: The Shoreview Community Center offers a large, free parking lot for its visitors. About Metro CERT: Clean Energy Resources Teams (CERTs) is a statewide partnership between the University of Minnesota Extension, Great Plains Institute, MN Department of Commerce, and Southwest Regional Development Commission. CERTs supports community-based clean energy projects in seven regions across Minnesota. The Metro region is made of 11 counties in and surrounding the Saint Paul – Minneapolis metropolitan area.
