This screening is the official theatrical premiere for episodes highlighting public service workers, from the the award-winning documentary series Covid Confessions, created by Minnesota filmmaker Alec Fischer.Filmed between 2020 and 2021, the series highlights pandemic stories from 335 Minnesotans across 40 industries. The 3 episodes being shown at this May 24th screening are focused on public service, highlighting experiences from public transit workers, airline workers, and religious leaders from across the state.A short Q&A session will follow the screening. Filmmaker BioMinneapolis-based filmmaker Alec Fischer developed, shot, and edited the 40-episode series as a solo passion project for a self-financed budget of less than $15k. Despite being an independent production, Covid Confessions has received international acclaim and awards recognition, including a recent licensing deal with Snapchat's Discover platform. In November, Forbes Magazine named Fischer as one of their 2023 “30 Under 30” young people transforming the future of media in North America due to his work with Covid Confessions and Midwestern storytelling. We are excited to invite you all to the first official theatrical screening of this important series highlighting Minnesotan stories.
