The Winters Heritage House Museum in Elizabethtown will host a Quilt Show and Heritage Days Celebration Wednesday, May 10 through Saturday, May 13. Throughout the week, local handmade quilts will be displayed throughout the rustic log cabins while members from the museum’s quilt, textile, craft and gardening groups will be on-hand to answer questions and demonstrate their unique work. Don’t leave the kids at home! Explore colonial customs through hands-on learning opportunities, a dress-up station, quilt and craft activities, and colonial-era games. Special Events throughout the week include: • Live Art Presentation by Cecile Madonna, Lola Love Letter, on Friday evening • Timed Guided Tours will be offered by docent Mary Conrad on Friday at 1:00pm, 2:00pm, & 3:00pm and Saturday at 1:00pm, 1:45pm, and 2:30pm. • Ann Holte of Filaments Studio in Hummelstown, PA will be giving quilt evaluations Friday between 1pm & 5pm. Bring your quilt and discover its history! • Pop-up mini pancakes by Ella’s Sweet Bites available for purchase • Abigail’s Garden, a local celtic and folk trio will be performing Saturday morning from 10:30am – 12:30pm. This lovely group of women performs an engaging set of songs, from celtic, to gypsy, pop songs, waltzes and originals that express beauty and whimsy. Each seasoned musician adds a unique touch to the varied selections, whether it’s a small original riff or a beautiful blend of harmonies. From clubs to festivals to concerts, this band brings an excitement that captivates their audiences. Performers are Renee Heiser Lentz, guitar and vocals; Tish Brown, fiddle, ukulele and vocals; Laurie Haines Reese, cello and vocals. Hours for the event are as follows: Wednesday, May 10: 10am – 3pm Thursday, May 11: 10am – 3pm Friday, May 12: 12pm – 7pm Saturday, May 13: 10am – 3pm Winters Heritage House Museum is located at 47 East High Street (1/2 block from the town square) in Elizabethtown. Two of the buildings included in the museum property date to the founding of the town. The museum is a community project run mostly by volunteers and provides Elizabethtown with educational programs, the preservation of local history, as well as a genealogy research library. There is free and parking in the lot behind 33 E.
