This moderate hike is approximately a 3.5 mile loop. We will begin by meeting in the meadow and climbing Middle Trail to reach a stunning view. Along the way we will stop to encounter the white fringe tree, fire pink, little brown jugs, blue toadflax, and more!
About the Guides: John Shelton-Sarabia and Courtney Alley both graduated with their Masters in Environmental Science at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a focus in botany. John’s excellent botanical knowledge comes from his experience conducting a flora to identify all plant species in a defined area of Polk County. Courtney gained skills and knowledge of ecology and identification through her work constructing distribution models for invasive plant species in Tennessee. Currently, John works as a botanist for TVA and Courtney works as a GIS specialist for Hamilton County.

Meet: No later than 5:15pm ET at Lula Lake Land Trust located at 5000 Lula Lake Rd. Lookout Mountain, GA 30750. The gate will open at 5:00pm ET and will close promptly at 5:25pm ET as the hike will leave from the meadow at 5:30pm ET.

Important Details
This is private property and we have permission to visit on this evening only. Everyone must leave at the same time after the hike is over.The hike will be a go rain or shine.Bring: Sturdy hiking shoes or boots and plenty of water. Also consider bug spray. In the warmer months we do see quite a bit of yellowjackets on the property, so if you are allergic, please carry your own epipen as we do not carry them on site.
