Intentional meeting structures that go beyond the status quo can greatly accelerate internal collaboration and collaboration with your networks. If you are concerned with endless meetings that fail to produce visible and meaningful results through collaboration, join us for an immersive tour of Liberating Structures. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to Liberating Structures, a set of powerful facilitation techniques designed to foster collaboration and engagement while enhancing communication and trust. These techniques allow participants to break out of traditional meeting practices to meet their objectives with structured activities that provide space for every voice to be heard and unlocks creativity and buy-in. This series is for anyone who takes part in staff or board meetings, program design teams, partnerships, planning committees or initiatives. You do not have to be a facilitator or have facilitation experience to attend this event, but basic knowledge of Liberating Structures is recommended. Come to this session to: Learn the basic principles of Liberating Structures and how they can be applied to create more inclusive and effective group interactions. Experiment with several of the most-widely used Liberating Structures firsthand. Gain practical tools and strategies for implementing Liberating Structures in your work and a deeper understanding of how they can transform group dynamics. About the facilitator, Sarah Ely: Respected for consistent leadership to foster inclusive and collaborative engagement, Sarah's deep capacity for program and organizational development served internally at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, Ford Motor Company, in K-12 systems and community nonprofit organizations. Presently at Crescent Hill Consulting, Sarah's practice focuses in three areas: workplace learning and growth consulting; leadership coaching for women in academic medicine; and influencing as many conveners as possible to leverage the meeting design and facilitation practice of Liberating Structures (LS). Sarah conducts LS Immersion Training and integrates Liberating Structures repertoire into the design and facilitation of high stakes meetings for community-based nonprofits, higher education and others. Sarah weaves her early clinical training and 30+ years expertise in systems change, systems integration and continuous improvement. Her career as a helping professional is grounded in deep respect for people and her strong belief in the inherent drive of humans to improve, innovate and serve the common good.
