Description

Clark County community members working to end youth/young adult homelessness - we are coming to you on May 10! Join us for the "Diversion Certification Training" on May 10 from 9 am-4:30 pm. This is our first in person dual-certification training, where folks can build diversion skills and receive certification for both of A Way Home Washington's diversion projects, the Youth Diversion Infrastructure Project (YDIP) and the Homelessness Prevention & Diversion Fund (HPDF). By attending this training, you will learn the foundation & philosophy underpinning diversion, and build skills for having exploratory conversations about housing with young people. Participants must attend the full training to get certification in both funds. About HPDF: The Homelessness Prevention and Diversion Fund was launched in 2020 and has since housed almost 900 young people across 5 Washington counties. This fund is for young people between the ages of 12-24 who are experiencing unacompanied homlessnes and/or at risk of experiencing unaccompanied homelessness. About YDIP: The Youth Diversion Infrastructure Project launched in 2023 and is a partnership between AWHWA and Building Changes. It seeks to reduce the number of young people exiting from systems of care into homelessness in Washington. The fund is for young people under the age of 25 who are in need of safe and stable housing after exiting from a system of care.
