Description

This month we will taste and discuss five Italian wines that are indigenous Italian varietals. Before the tasting we will have a special pre-tasting with Messina Hof, with a focus on their wines that are also originally Italian grapes. A representative from Messina Hof will get started pouring at 5:30. This will be less of a formal presentation but a tasting and some information on each of the 3 wines we will be bringing in and they will be pouring. You do not need to be there by 5:30 to participate, this will just be happening from 5:30 until 7:00 until the official wine club presentation begins. Cost for this special pre-tasting will be just $10. There will be an add-on button on Eventbrite which will really help us gauge and prepare beforehand but also feel free to pay in-store that night. Those three wines are: - Bonarrigo Heritage Select white (Trebbiano-Pinot Grigio - Sagrantino Reserve - Bonarrigo Heritage Reserve red (Primitivo-Sagrantino-Sangiovese) With nearly 20% of global production, Italy is the world’s largest wine producer, ahead of France and Spain. It is now thought that wine-making in Italy dates back to around 4000 BC. We will be tasting five wines from native Italian grapes.
