Description

This conference is for parents, educators and advocates of early childhood education. The conference itself, and the zoom workshops were planned by the Rhode Island Head Start Parent Advisory Committee, (PAC) consisting of parents from across the state. This will be the 9th state conference organized by the PAC, but the first time being located at the beautiful Chelos on the Waterfront in Warwick. The theme of the conference is advocacy. There will be guests from RIght From the Start, and our Keynote Speaker, Paige Clausius-Parks, Ed.M., Executive Director of RI KIDS COUNT. Please register today; space is limited. The conference location at this venue is not handicap accessible. Paige Clausius-Parks Paige Clausius-Parks is Executive Director of Rhode Island KIDS COUNT. Rhode Island KIDS COUNT is a statewide children’s policy and advocacy organization that works to improve the health, safety, education, economic well-being, and development of Rhode Island's children, with commitment to equity and the elimination of unacceptable disparities by race, ethnicity, disability, zip code, immigration status, neighborhood, and income. From 2019-2022, Paige served as Rhode Island KIDS COUNT’s Senior Policy Analyst responsible for policy analysis, advocacy, and project management in areas related to education and economic well-being. Prior to joining Rhode Island KIDS COUNT, Paige served as Director of Advancement and Assistant Director for Books Are Wings and Teacher/Advisor at The Met Center. Paige advocates for the needs of Rhode Island children and families by testifying on budgetary investments and legislation that impact economic stability and mobility, school curriculum, school culture, and college and career readiness initiatives and works to ensure children in low-income families, Children of Color, Multilingual Learners, and children with disabilities receive the resources they need to succeed.
