Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (released 56 years ago in May 1967), performed in its entirety from start to finish, along with a second set devoted to late-period Beatles classics. The 12-piece Shabby Road Orchestra will be joined on an expanded Parkway stage by a staple of friends, including the Laurels String Quartet, cellist Michelle Kinney, harpist Phala Tracy, sitarist Mark Ilaug and tabla percussionist Ron Fearring. Released as the Beatles’ 8th album in May of 1967, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band stands as a singular achievement in the history of recorded music. An innovative mash-up of counter culture anxieties, psychedelia, vaudeville, Hindustani classical composition and culminating in the epic orchestral rock of "A Day in the Life," for decades the iconic release was ranked as the greatest album of all time by Rolling Stone, and it remains a creative high point for the Beatles. The Shabby Road Orchestra is: Adam Levy, guitars, vocals John Eller, guitars, piano, vocals Brandon Sampson, guitars, vocals Joe Carey, guitars, vocals Ken Chastain, drums, vocals John Fields, bass Tom Scott, keyboards, sound effects, percussion Paul Scott, piano Davide Foley, horns, woodwinds Mark Henderson, woodwinds John Sievers, brass Jacqueline Ultan, cello Facebook
