During these turbulent times, Community Crisis Services Inc. (CCSI) is committed to ensuring that everyone has access to a highly trained, empathetic listener when life feels overwhelming. The ongoing fears of COVID-19, political divides, job or housing insecurity and a 24-hour news cycle often leads to feelings of depression, anxiety and even thoughts of suicide. CCSI is Here to Help! During FY 22, CCSI answered 48,532 calls on our suicide lines, and provided 40,078 chats/texts to help those who were struggling. To help our community members better understand how we can help, we request the honor of your presence at our Bigger, Better, Bolder, Brighter A 9-8-8 Suicide Prevention Event Tuesday, May 2nd 2023. from 10am – 12pm The Country Club at Woodmore 12320 Pleasant Prospect, Mitchellville MD 20721. During the event, you’ll hear from Congressman Glenn Ivey, Maryland State Senator Malcolm Augustine, Prince George's County Sheriff John D.B. Carr and CCSI CEO Tim Jansen along with other community leaders who will introduce you to 9-8-8 three digit suicide prevention dialing, and how CCSI, Prince George’s County, State and Federal Governments are working together to bring mental health resources to those in need.
