The Berkshire Bike Path Council invites all to join for Bikes Safe Cycling - A Stand Out and Ride Celebration, to kick off Bay State Bike Month. The event will start with a standout at Park Square, serving as a visible educational moment to stand up for Safe Cycling throughout Berkshire County. Participants are encouraged to bring their bicycles and creative signs for the event. Updates from Berkshire Bike Path Council President Marjorie ""Marge"" Cohen and remarks from Pittsfield Mayor Linda Tyer will also take place. Starting at 5:30 pm, all participants are welcome and encouraged to join a brief, fun group ride around the downtown Pittsfield bike lane loop. The ride will end at Hot Plate Brewing Co., at 1 School Place where a celebratory toast will happen to kick off Bay State Bike Month. Note that as a political event in a high visibility area and with the mayor in attendance, it is very likely that photographs will be taken by non-Q-Mob photographers who may not note or honor our colored stickers). Q-MoB will offer all our participants Q-MoB posters to affix to your bike to increase visibility of our support for safe streets for biking & pedestrians.
