Paulette Conley, mother to Donald Conley II owner of Barberizm the Shoppe left this earth early 2020. A single mother of Compton, CA always instilled values such as hard work, integrity, and being of service to your fellowman. Donald, following in his mother's footsteps opened his flagship business Barberizm the Shoppe in 2018 with an emphasis on doing your best at being your best. After the loss of his mother he wanted to celebrate her for what she meant to him and so many others by creating an event where smiles on the faces of hard working women of all types would prevail. Being a barber with a vast network barbers from across the globe he reached out to the best of the best and ask if they would be interested in being a part of such an event. Not stopping there he wanted to highlight women vendors and creatives of all types. May 14, 2023 will mark the first annual "Mamacuz" (Paulette's nickname) and Barberizm The Shoppe presents "Ladies First... Barbering Showcase" This isn't implying this is the first showcase of lady barbers but states the fact that all women attending will be shown first class treatment while observing the skill, savvy and personality of some of the world's best in the barbering world. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Los Angeles chapter of the Alzheimer Association.
