Johnson County recently launched Better Together 2030 – a community wide strategic plan - the first plan led and created by our public and private partners, including municipal governments, the business and education community, nonprofits, and community and economic development agencies. One of the key pillars of the BT2030 All in Vision plan is “Reimagined Human and Social Services.” What would it look like if our human and social services community was better connected, financially sustainable, and strategically aligned in order to inform and solve our communities most pressing challenges? We believe this work will take everyone in order to ensure we are aligning external resources for financial sustainability, and strategically aligning our nonprofit community for improving both internal and external resource allocation.
This work will ensure health equity and overall improved community well-being. Johnson County Public Health continues to lead the way in our community’s vision, taking community well-being and health equity seriously. Our partners know that coordinated care networks are essential to increasing services and access for all.
We are excited that the Unite Us platform is expanding daily across Iowa. We plan to host a Community Conversation at MERGE in downtown Iowa City on May 19, 2023 from 10am-11am. This will be a great opportunity for organizations across Johnson County to come together and discuss how coordinated care networks of health and social service providers are essential to creating a healthier community.
To that end, please join us on May 19, 2023 at 10am in the IMOn Room in MERGE, Iowa City, at 136 S. Dubuque Street. Parking is available in nearby ramps (first hour free) and nearby meters. Bicycle parking is available onsite.
