Be Your Own Hero Active Shooter Training Seminar and Fundraiser WHAT: We all would like to think that it can't happen to us, but the unfortunate reality is that violence does happen. Whether at a workplace, school, place of worship, or the holiday parade, individuals and families may face the risk of an Active Assailant or another violent event. Proper training and preparation will empower you to respond in a manner that significantly increases your chances of survival in these dynamic situations. Our 'Be Your Own Hero' course is designed specifically for the average citizen who is seeking an answer following the violent events that are seen so regularly on the news. Our industry-leading content raises the standard to provide a comprehensive understanding of how to prevent or respond to these situations. Each Active Assailant event will bring its own set of circumstances, and no single action will be the 'correct' answer, so our goal is to equip people with the ability to make their own informed and rational decisions to survive. This 4-hour lecture will prepare attendees with the knowledge and confidence to help prevent a situation from ever reaching the point of extreme violence and to help minimize casualties in an attack. Understanding concepts like normalcy bias and situational awareness enables you to become more tuned in to your environment, whether at work, home, church, school, or in public. Therefore, you are more likely to notice precursors to a violent event. Many violent events or Active Assailant situations could have been prevented if only people had recognized the indicators and responded appropriately and proactively. Our Active Assailant course aims to empower everyone with the ability to be that positive change and help prevent a violent event from ever occurring. We help mitigate common risks by weaving life-safety skills throughout the training session that can easily and immediately be applied in your lives. Our goal with this session is to not only teach you how to survive an Active Assailant but also to be more prepared to prevent, avoid, or survive the full spectrum of violence that is more common. The mindset and skills techniques were carefully and intentionally designed to be there for each individual, no matter the type of violence you face. Our 'Skills' component of the training will cover crucial survival techniques, including how to identify rooms that can be barricaded and then how to perform that skill properly, how to disarm an attacker in a manner that minimizes risk to yourself and others, and how to use everyday objects as effective defensive weapons if you are ever in a fight for your life. The course will be 4 hours in length, allowing for approximately 30 minutes of Q&A time. This fundraiser seminar is in person only. COST: $50 per person and $100 per family. Training is to be provided by Trident Shield and hosted by Patriot Crusader Mission. This course is a fundraiser for Patriot Crusader Mission, a Church, Ministry, and Farm. All funds raised in this training session will be donated to Patriot Crusader Mission and will be used to build and operate a facility to DISCIPLE strong Christians to lead in their homes and communities as well as provide affordable healthy food for the congregation and surrounding community. WHO: This course is appropriate for mature high-school-aged persons and above. This session covers content that is applicable to a variety of environments, so will be useful to people in all stages of life. This course is required to participate in all firearms training and level 2 courses. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Founder and CEO of Trident Shield and Founder of Patriot Crusader Mission, Jason Perry, is a veteran of both the military and police forces, spending 16 years in the Navy SEALS and 5 years in Law Enforcement Including being on the Boston SWAT Team. Jason has also bodyguarded some of the wealthiest people in the world. Jason's experiences, both personal (50 years) and professional (30 years), have given him a unique perspective and set of skills that he now strives to pass on to as many groups of people as possible.
