Altruism Media, Inc. (AMI) and the Wyandotte Health Council are hosting a Meet Your Area Doula event that will provide clarity about the role of doulas and foster connections for individuals interested in doula support. Event attendees can expect to learn: what a doula is, how they support birthing people and their partners, and how they work with hospitals and other providers to help facilitate a happy, healthy birth and improve maternal morbidity and mortality rates for birthing people in Kansas and Missouri. AMI is offering a new program, The Maternal and Infant Health Project, or The MaIH Project, which connects pregnant and birthing people to a doula and community health worker team to support their perinatal health journey. Event attendees will also learn more about The MaIH Project and have the opportunity to get connected to care.
