Join Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Iota Lambda Omega Chapter, and collaborators for a motivating mental wellbeing day on Saturday, May 6, 2023! In support of the Empower Our Families international program initiative, this event is designed to bring awareness and break the stigma associated with common mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, and trauma. Experts will deliver interactive wellbeing sessions including yoga (participants will need their own mat or towel), mindfulness meditation, and engaging breakout discussions. Throughout the day, participants can talk with professionals and browse educational resources that help promote mental wellbeing and self-care. Light refreshments will be offered while supplies last. Space is limited. Please register for only one (1) workshop during Session 1 (11:30am - 12:15pm) and only one (1) workshop during Session 2 (12:30pm - 1:15pm). Event facilitators include Dr. Cholet Josue, Dr. Tanya L. Royster, Niki Brown, Tracey Davis, Cheree Ingram, Barbara Miller, Vanessa Fahie, Shirley Marc, Jamale Frazier-Hatcher, Patricia Newman. Resources provided by African American Community Roundtable (AACR), Autism Society Howard County, Chi Eta Phi Sorority Inc.®, Rho Chi Chi Chapter Inc., Howard County Department of Health, Howard County Public School System, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Pearl Foundation Inc., and Therapeutic Connections, LLC.
