Pilates is intense yet subtle and calls on that deep strength supporting balance and coordination. It’s not forceful. Bring that playful, expansive, dynamic nature of summer’s fire to your pilates routine. Fire up your digestion Often we can stray from our typical eating routine in summer. Learn to prep your digestion and be prepared by learning new recipes and beverages. Tasting included too! Fire up your routine Avoid Burnout this summer in the office and beyond. Live life to the fullest in both balance in body and mind.Do more with less by working smarter not harder. When in tune with nature, you experience unmatched energy, clarity, joyfulness and vitality. Fire up your detoxification Love your Liver and complete any cleansing from Spring. By understanding the special functions of the hottest of all the seasons we can support our fire within. We will: Chat Move Eat In a two hour interactive workshop Tentative Outline: (Jen to Amy) ● Lifestyle Chat 35 minutes ● Break 5 minutes ● Movement 25 minutes ● Breathwork 10 minutes ● Acupressure 15 minutes ● Q&A 15 minutes ● Food Therapy 15 Lifestyle Chat 35 minutes Habits, routines, and dietary choices should ebb and flow with the seasons. We can support an improved state of balance throughout the year by making a conscious effort to live in harmony with the cycles of nature and by regularly adjusting our lifestyle and habits to accommodate the arrival of each new season. While this idea may at first seem daunting, many people find that the recommended seasonal adjustments come quite naturally and that a few simple changes can dramatically increase health and vitality. ● A summer seasonal routine is aimed at fostering diet and lifestyle habits that will help to prevent the over-accumulation of summer qualities and allow you to enjoy the unique gifts that summertime has to offer. ● Surrendering rather than controlling. ● A regular, daily routine with regular times for eating, sleeping, working, etc. and play ● Have fun on a regular basis, even if you have to work at it at first. Make it a priority - schedule your fun, if that's what it takes. Consider fun as important to your well-being as work or anything else you do. ● Body Clock ● Meal times ● Morning to boost energy ● Evening Rituals, get to sleep faster ● Body Care Routine ● Balance rest and activity, allowing some free time everyday. Be careful not to create unnecessary time pressures for yourself. Movement 25 minutes Breathwork 10 minutes 25 minute movement: Get physical. Get into your body and out of your head. Love, exercise, dance, run, play. Get your circulation going. Standing and Matwork: Posture, Glutes, opening in the front, Strength and engagement from the back. Based on Brooke Tyler’s Seasonal Pilates. Mat work to standing and planking, and apparatus exercises to the floor so anyone can do them. Take home routines for summer! Forward folds to calm the nervous system, twists and side body openers to support digestion.
