Friday, June 920th Anniversary of the Congressional Internship, 8 am, Hawthorne Hotel, 18 Washington Square W, SalemThe DC Congressional Internship program looks back on decades of sending Salem State students to learn and work with our federal legislators at both the local and national level. Join us for a celebration in support of this remarkable program and network with other former program participants. Join us to celebrate with friends and former classmates, including dinner and bar service. Following your reception, we invite you to join us for a private performance with legenday singer/songwriter Tom Rush! Saturday, June 10Yoga with the Salty Buddha, 9 - 10 am, McKeown Plaza, 352 Lafayette Street, SalemThe team at the Salty Buddha joins us for a nice relaxing morning yoga class to start your Saturday off right. Bring your mat and comfy clothes, and get loose. Water and light snacks will be available. Salem Food Tour, 11:30 am - 2 pm, Derby Wharf, Salem$20/pp Join us for a 2.5 hour afternoon stroll through downtown Salem! The tour includes information on our local history, including our illustrious spice trade history, historic landmarks and our wonderful shops and restaurants, dynamic cultural scene and more. Also included is a cheese, wine, sweet, and spice tasting, as well as fresh New England Clam Chowder (or vegetarian soup), fresh local breads, and an olive oil and vinegar tasting. Space is limited to the first 25 people who sign up, so don’t delay! Important: Tour will go out rain or shine, please advise of any food allergies. Campus Walking Tour (with 2 scheduled tours: 2 pm & 3 pm)Tours begin 2 pm and at 3 pm and end one hour after starting. Educator Hall of Fame Rededication, 4 – 6 pm, Sullivan Building, Ground FloorWith a newly located home in the McKeown School of Education, past inductees, alumni and friends of the Northeast Regional Educators Hall of Fame are invited to join for a special rededication of the Educator Hall of Fame, hosted by the Friends of the McKeown School of Education. Light appetizers and refreshments will be available. POMP23: Party on McKeown Plaza, 6 - 9 pm, McKeown Plaza, North CampusCelebrating its eighth year, join Viking friends and families for the biggest party of the year. We’ll have food and beverage available, as well as tokens for tons of entertainment as you take a step back in time to play some arcade classics.
