In the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd anger and sadness soared in the Black community in a research study by Stanford University (2021, Sept. 20). We invite you into this program that will address those hurts with practical tools. Anger in the Black Community: Overcoming Our Trauma and Triggers program will:
Raise awareness of the effects of trauma and unresolved anger on the health of the Black Community through forum presentation, breakout sessions, and panel discussion. Provide all participants with a 2023 Resource Guide in Support of Mental Health.Give opportunities to discuss how anger may affect you at work, in relationships, in how you see yourself, and how you view your past.Offer resources for unhealed trauma, solutions to address unresolved anger, and coping skills to identify and de-escalate triggers. ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A GIFT BAG WITH MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES. REFRESHMENTS AND LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE.
The primary purpose and focus of National Pan Hellenic Council-Divine 9(NPHC-D9) member organizations remain community awareness and action through educational, economic, and cultural service activities. The D9 continues NPHC to raise awareness about mental health services, decrease access disparities among Black and People of Color and encourage mental health literacy.
