All community members are welcome to attend for free. There will be a cap of 25 participants. Join Washington County EMA and the Nashville Community Center in presenting the first of several community oriented classes.
Stop the Bleed is a class designed to teach individuals how to recognize and respond to life-threatening bleeding in emergency situations. This class is intended for anyone who may find themselves in a situation where someone is bleeding uncontrollably, such as in a workplace, public area, or in the aftermath of a natural disaster.
The Stop the Bleed class covers basic bleeding control techniques, including how to apply direct pressure, pack a wound, and use a tourniquet. Participants will learn how to assess the severity of a bleeding injury, identify the source of bleeding, and how to manage bleeding until medical professionals arrive.
