FREE EVENT: Spring Fling Festival in Kingwood Neighborhood, Little Rock

St. Paul United Methodist Church brings the Spring Fling Festival to Durwood Road Sunday, April 30, from 12 noon to 3 pm. This free, family event is an opportunity to celebrate the gifts of spring through art-making, music, gardening, beekeeping, entertainment and educational activities. Special guest for the day is Clifford the Big Red Dog! Come for a BBQ lunch and stay for fun and educational activities. The event will be in front of St. Paul United Methodist Church and at the St. Paul Community Garden, 2223 Durwood Road, Little Rock. We will close a section of Durwood Road for the afternoon. The event is free, although a food donation for the food pantry or a book for the Little Library would be appreciated. Activities include: Just for fun Meet Clifford the Big Red Dog. Play in the inflatable bounce house. Play Pickle Ball on the St. Paul Indoor Court. Creating and Making Engage in arts and crafts activities with Zig Zag Art Making Space. See, hear and maybe even play different musical instruments with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Kids enjoy storytime with the St.Paul volunteers. Outdoor Fun and Education Meet the new Pulaski County Horticulturist, Derek Reed, for a talk in the St. Paul Community Garden at 1:00 pm. You will learn about Companion Planting and Horticulture Therapy. There will also be a Q and A for home gardeners. Learn the benefits of bees from Calm+Confidence Beekeeping with a beehive demonstration (see a real beehive in action) and learn about pollinators as we plant a flower bed. Gain information about earth-friendly sustainability with Little Rock Planeteers. Explore a fire truck with the Little Rock Fire Department. Meet Clifford the Big Red Dog.
