Description

Hike: as in a leisurely low impact, walk in the woods focused on human to human connection outside of screens and work. The goal here is to inhale the fresh air of nature, but not be too out of breath to hold a conversation. If you haven’t been active in awhile and can manage a 20 min drive, and one to two hours in the woods. This is for you, for us. With so many hiking spots around us, let’s take advantage of the weather and get out into nature together. Muse will provide some snacks and water, just bring your journal, yourself and friends or family. How does this relate to art and creativity? Nature is the perfect place to clear your mind if the clutter and get clear on what you really think and feel, creating space to receive inspiration. The White Trail The White Trail is a 5.2 mile loop that passes through some of the most remote areas of the park. It intersects with the Red Trail at the overlook of the New Manchester mill ruins at the one mile mark. This trail was specifically designed to highlight the park’s wildlife and plant communities. The trail winds through several lovely stream coves and follows the ridges overlooking Sweetwater Creek. It connects to the end of the red trail then follows the rapids down the creek. The trail then turns west and follows Jack’s Branch upstream to Jack’s Lake. After climbing out of the lake valley, the trail passes through the Jack’s Hill area, a former farming community now known for its open meadows which are a favorite of bird watchers Carpool / Parking Weekends are popular, so parking can be limited. We encourage carpooling with friends and Muse Community Members. Plan to get there a bit earlier to find your way, find parking and meeting up with the group.
