Hey Navarre Community - We’d love to meet and mingle with you! Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast is coming back to Santa Rosa county with a brand new MONTHLY after hours in Navarre and this is YOUR invite to join us! Our organization had a presence in Santa Rosa and condensed to Pensacola during the pandemic. We are excited to be coming back to Santa Rosa and can’t wait to showcase our Powerfulness in the Navarre community. Join us as we kick off our monthly Powerful Friend-Raisers at The Vine Wine Bar, Bistro & Shoppe at 8211 Navarre Parkway from 5:00-6:30pm on the second Wednesday of each month. What’s a “Friend-Raiser” and who should attend? Our organization has over 130 members and we have space for many more. We are starting these friend-raisers to make new friends in Navarre and surrounding communities. If you are a woman in business - whether you are an entrepreneur, solopreneur, small or mid-size business owner, corporate employee, or even not in business or retired but want to surround yourself with other women in business - we’d love to meet you! Also, we believe women supporting women is a given, but we also believe men should support women in business so this event is open to men who support women in business also. What’s on the agenda? We are planning a simple networking event with a collective mindset. This is an opportunity to hang out and chat with other Powerful Women members and guests. We encourage attendees to meet and get to know each other and discuss struggles, successes, obstacles, and victories as women in business. For the first few months, there is no formal agenda, however we are looking at adding short presentations by local Navarre area amazing women in business after our first few months. We believe women struggle in business because there aren’t enough realistic stories of women in business. When women come together and speak up and courageously tell their authentic stories, they inspire more women to do the same. If you haven’t been to The Vine Wine Bar, Bistro & Shoppe yet, their name says it all – a huge selection of wine (180 different wines) by the glass or wine flights, plus a shop to purchase full bottles of wine. They also have a Bistro kitchen with a selection of tapas, salads, charcuterie, savory plates, paninis, flatbreads, sweets and more. All this in an inviting atmosphere, perfect to hang out with friends. And if you haven’t met The Vine business owner, Erin Crumbley, there’s another reason to come out! Plus, Erin is extending their normal happy hour specials for our event - $1 off beer, $2 off wine, and $3 off wine flights. Plus, there are plenty of non-alcohol options for those choosing those options. This event is free to attend, however we ask all attendees to purchase something from our host business if you attend. By spending money with The Vine, we can showcase the huge economic power and important consumer insight women have. Spending money with local women-owned businesses is a great way to support them and help them be more successful. Extra Bonus: We also will be giving a small thank you gift to each attendee that took time to register for their ticket on Eventbrite. This is just our way of saying thank you for helping us to run a more efficient organization. Every bit of help is critical and appreciated! Why does this community benefit organization exist? Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast is helping bring awareness to the issues women face in business. Women have made important gains in representation in the last few years. But we're still a long way from equality. Lean In’s research shows that bias contributes to women being passed over for jobs and promotions, and almost 60% of women regularly experience microaggressions at work. Additionally, for many women, finding meaningful support at work is a major challenge. About 20% of women say they’re often the only woman in the room at work. To help combat these issues, Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast is a membership organization that holds regular meetings and events and participates in community events focused on supporting, advancing, and improving women in business through education, professional development, networking, and collaboration. The more we spotlight local women in business, encourage positive networking relationships, celebrate locally women-owned businesses, provide actionable training and tools, and support our members, the more we can empower ourselves and others towards business success and individual prosperity, therefore changing our community.
