The 2023 PEN academic Summit is a must-attend event for families in Monroe County who have children with disabilities navigating special education. This year's summit is titled "Becoming a Wave Finder on Your Voyage of Special Education and Beyond". Register today to find out more! This event brings together education experts, local agencies, and parents to discuss and learn about critical issues facing families with children with special needs in public schools. One of the many benefits of attending the PEN Academic Summit is the opportunity to meet crucial agencies that support children with disabilities from birth to young adulthood. We will have speakers presenting on topics from early childhood to transition and guardianship. Parents and caregivers can exchange information and resources, and learn from each other’s experiences. Another exciting part of the event is the speed dating breakout. This session provides an opportunity for attendees to meet with local agencies and learn about the services they provide. The format allows attendees to meet with multiple agencies in a short amount of time, making it a convenient way to gather information.
