We provide all materials. You bring the FUN! What is hypertufa? Cotton fabric is saturated with a liquid mixture of portand cement and aggregates, draped and following a week of curing, planted.
Lecture and hands-on experience combine science with art. Ideal for fern, fairy, table-top, dried arrangements and succulent gardens and much more! Organic looking on their own, they can be painted with favorite team colors.
May 16 - CREATE YOUR CONTAINER
Guided through the process in the classroom, participants will move outside to blend portland cement and aggregates, and drape a one gallon hypertufa pot.
May 23 - PLANT YOUR CONTAINER
After curing for a week, your container is ready to plant. This session focuses on care tips for the container garden. The emphasis will be on irrigation, fertilization and propagation. During this session, you will plant your cured draped container. We provide the plants or you may bring your own.
ATTIRE: This is an indoor/outdoor event. Closed toe footwear, hat and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
All extension and services are open to all without regard to race, color, age, sex, religion, national origin or handicap.
Attendees often repeat and bring friends for this gardening experience.
