This hike along the shores of the Sudbury Reservoir runs from the Callahan State Park North on Broadmeadow Road in Marlborough to Nichols Street parking area in Southborough. Meet at the Callahan State Park North parking lot at 241 Broadmeadow Road in Marlborough. This is a 6-mile roundtrip hike. Those preferring a shorter hike can stage a car on Nichols Street, though parking there is limited. The terrain is fairly level along the reservoir but there are some hilly sections between Broadmeadow Road and the shore of the reservoir, so please wear sturdy shoes as trail conditions can vary in early spring. It's also recommended to wear light clothing (ticks are out) and bring water and a snack. Learn some of the interesting history of the reservoir, the trail system and local plants and animals.
