Description

Join us at Sycamore Community Garden in Concord, NH as we kick off our first Guest Speaker Series event of the season! Jess Stone, owner of Cold Spring Farm in CT and of Abenaki descent, will be leading this interactive gardening workshop. Attendees will have the opportunity to assist with preparing the soil and planting culturally relevant seeds (corn, beans, and squash) for a traditional Three Sisters Companion planting. This event will be a great opportunity to collaborate with local community members in our new shared Educational Garden space at SCG. 50% of the harvest will later be donated to food banks that serve native populations, such as Kearsarge Food Hub. This event has been made possible by generous seed donations from the Abenaki Seeds Project. If able, please plan to bring gardening tools (shovel, hoe, and/or gloves) as we have a limited supply. Also, plan to dress for weather - rain or shine, work shoes, hats, sunscreen, and bring water. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at [email protected]. These events are free to the public, individuals may send in donations if they so choose.
