Chicago BIPOC Birders is hosting a Spring Bird Walk! The underbirded/underutilized Dunning Read Natural Area on the northwest side of Chicago is comprised of natural prairies, wetlands, and woodlands, the park has approximately 0.8 miles of trails and is under active restoration. Come out, bring you friends and family! This event is for individuals who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color. Please respect this intention. We will provide binoculars. Unfortunately, there are no public bathrooms inside the natural area; there is a gas station on the corner of Irving Park & Oak Park. Please see map below for meeting location. Enter the natural area through the Chicago Read Mental Health Center marked by a green arrow. Parking is available in the north side parking lot outlined in blue. We will meet by the access road to the nature center marked by a yellow star.
