The For our Children | For our Famililes Faith Summit aims to educate and raise awareness regarding all aspects of child welfare. This event is intended for pastors, church ministries, the general community, local government officials, local agencies and private organizations advocating for foster care and our partners.
Our vision is to provide current data on child welfare, especially about Black children and families, including those in kinship care. We hope to create a safe space for collaboration and idea-sharing discussions.
In addition to educating attendees on the data, we want to mobilize the faith community/community at large to take action, in supporting those impacted by foster care and child welfare system and to learn HOW WE can help keep families together. Before leaving we will offer churches and ministries tangible ideas on how they can support.
What God the Father considers to be pure and genuine religion is this: to take care of orphans and widows in their suffering and to keep oneself from being corrupted by the world. –James 1:27 (TEV)Schedule:
We look forward to seeing you on May 6th, 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m., as we collaborate to build the community to support families in need.
