His work is influenced by country-blues, Indian classical, middle eastern music, psychedelia, and American primitivism. Hornsby was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN where he graduated from arts high school specializing in theatre and creative writing. Outside school, he delved deep into his music obsession while learning guitar and clawhammer banjo. In 2014, he moved to North Carolina and began recording original music in the midst of attending Appalachian State University, and has since released three records to critical acclaim around the world. “The Ravi Shankar-esque ‘Yaman Kalyan,’ Hornsby slashes at his strings and flies all over the fretboard with lightning speed. He somehow even makes his guitar sound at times exactly like a sitar. It’s worth the price of admission alone.” - Keith Hadad of Record Crates United JOSHUA SONGS (Folk & Blues Songwriter) Joshua Songs has spent more than 20 years alternately living as a recluse and exposing himself musically to audiences all over the country on tour. Playing in streets, bars and at backyard brawls from Savannah to San Francisco, Las Vegas to New Orleans. His unique voice and surprising range give a haunting vulnerability to his stories of love, loss and life on the road. With a voice equal parts gravel and glory, Joshua Songs belts a dark and dirty brand of folk blues. Joshua has shared the stage with acts like Nashvilles "Those Darlins", "the Memphis Dawls", "Rob Kennedy and the Jam Messengers", Bill Fox of Cleveland 80's power pop trio "the Mice", Oakland troglodyte jugband "Thee Hobo Gobbelins", and toured nationally via Fat Possum Records in "The Twitches" opening for Louisiana dark rocker Dax Riggs of "Acid Bath" fame.
