Description

This project is open to youth ages 5-18 in Lexington County. 4-H Membership is not required but additional fees will apply. The 4-H Tomato Project will begin in May, tomatoes can be planted in the ground/garden or in containers. Youth will have several months to care for their tomato plants and an in-person county judging will take place in July. Plant & Record Book Pick Up - Tomato plants and record books will be available for pick up on Tuesday & Wednesday, May 2nd & 3rd from 8am - 4:30pm at the Lexington County extension office (closed for lunch between 1pm & 2pm). If you need to make other arrangements, please contact Eric Eliassen. Tomato Contest Prizes will be given for completed record books accompanied by: Best Looking Tomato, Worst Looking Tomato, and Heaviest Tomato. Additional contest opportunities will be announced as the project progresses.
