Week #1: April 6Theme: Literacy Week
Join us for a Storytime reading of “A Girl Who Raises Butterflies” by local Miami Author Mariel Ruiz-Escasena. This interactive experience will include educational “Show and Tell” and “Touch and Feel” components including different types of plants and specimens. We will also introduce our very own caterpillars that will become butterflies to be released on April 20th. Following the Storytime, join us for Full Moon Yoga on the Lawn at 7:30 PM
Week #2: April 13Theme: Service/Stewardship/Hands On
Register for one of our interactive mini workshops: Kindness Rocks (Ages 2-6), Seed Bombs (Ages 7-11) and, Planting Seeds (Ages 12-17).
Mini Workshops Descriptions:
• Craft 1: Kindness Rocks
Kids ages 2-6 can register to paint kindness rocks that we will then place by the butterfly garden.
• Craft 2: Seed Bombs
Kids ages 7-11 can register to create their own seed bomb to grow at home.
• Craft 3: Planting seeds
Kids ages 12-17 can register to learn how to grow an edible garden and help us launch our very own by planting herb seeds.
Additionally, we are inviting the community to “Shred Paper” and “Recycle Electronics” with Shred-it and E-scrap. They will be onsite from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Week #3: April 20Theme: Butterfly Release
Join us for an evening to celebrate Earth Day with nature focused arts and crafts, face painting and the release of native butterflies into our Butterfly Garden.
Week #4: April 27 Theme: Educational Workshops
Join us for a family friendly, hands-on, interactive workshop to learn “How to Start your Own Garden at Home”.
Materials for all workshops and activities will be provided. Spaces are limited.
