New York Transportation Day will feature trolley and rapid transit vehicles that once ran in New York on display and in operation on our historic rail line.
Ride a 1906 BRT trolley car that ran in Brooklyn, including a route across the Brooklyn Bridge, a 1939 Third Avenue Manhattan trolley car and a 1940 IND R-9 subway car.
Vehicles on display will include R-17 NYC Subway car, a Metropolitan Railway Horsecar built in 1893, a Hudson & Manhattan Black Car, a Brooklyn-Queens PCC trolley car, a PATH car that survived the World Trade Center attack, and many more. An iconic 1981 Checker Cab will be on display all day.
WPKN's own radio host "Car Bob" will be broadcasting his show live on location until 11:00am. New York related merchandise and book tables, children's activities, and snacks for sale. Bring your family for a fun filled day!
