Our program will include meditation, Dhamma talks, chanting, mindful movement and interactive inquiry. This retreat will be held within the container of noble silence and will be beneficial for people of all backgrounds and levels of experience.
Aruna Dhammadhira spent 18 years as a monastic in the Theravada tradition. She began her training in Amaravati and Chithurst monasteries in England with the guidance of Ajahn Sumedho and Ajahn Sucitto. She also spent time studying with Ashin Tejaniya in Myanmar, at Santi Forest Monastery in Australia and Mahapajapati Monastery in California. After leaving her formal training in robes in 2020, Aruna now lives in Colorado and works with the Web of Connection and the Canon Sangha to extend the teachings of the Dhamma to those who walk the path in lay life.
Sister Khemanandi started practicing the Buddha's teachings in the Tibetan tradition in 2011 under the guidance of Ven. Thubten Chodron. In 2014, she studied for 3.5 yrs in their SAFE intensive study program. After living in monasteries for a year, Sister became a monastic in the Theravada tradition at Aloka Vihara Monastery (CA) followed by ordination in 2020 at Mahapajapati Monastery (CA). Sister has attended and taught in many retreats, including an eight day Anapanasati (mindfulness of breathing) residential retreat taught by Bhikkhu Analayo at Spirit Rock in 2019. Sister Khemanandi lives at Deer Park Center in Colorado Springs, under the Web of Connection non-profit organization.
