Description

Friday, April 21st - Taylor Rees Wake up your body and mind with an hour of gentle yet invigorating yoga with filmmaker and yoga teacher Taylor Rees. This practice will start with 5 minutes of orienting to Earth’s place in space and the surrounding environment, so bring warm clothes! We will then move into the Kiva for 45 min of grounding and heart-opening asana. All levels are welcome! Saturday, April 22nd - Eliza Demarest Give back to yourself with this uplifting vinyasa flow yoga class, designed to help you experience a more embodied state of flow and freedom; go from living in an over-active mind to a more grounded and awakened state of being in the body. This class is a perfect blend of structure and playful exploration helping you find vitality, health, and, joy through movement, breath, and meditation. For the last 10 years, Taylor Rees has used documentary filmmaking as a way to explore the diversity of ways that ecosystems, like social justice movements and conservation strategies, are as diverse and ever evolving as the flora and fauna within. Understanding isn’t a strategy, it’s a listening and humble learning journey of failure and of friendship. Over the course of her career, having worked intimately with marginalized communities and privileged communities, her ideas on how to navigate impact campaigns and ultimately affect positive change through storytelling, have evolved. She still hasn’t figured it out and hopes to keep it that way. Eliza Demarest is the founder of Heart Home Retreats, a small wellness retreat business based out of Carbdonale, Colorado. She is a certified yoga teacher, and is passionate about sharing her love of ceremonial cacao. She has taught actively at yoga studios in the Roaring Fork Valley for five years. Her drive is to create beautifully curated experiences where intentionality, nourishment, and play are found in abundance. She believes simple and thoughtful living creates vitality and health; that by nurturing ourselves, we can show up best in the world. She is currently undergoing training to become a Somatic Stress Release practitioner through Dr. Scott Lyons. Her ultimate desire is to help people return home to their bodies and understand their biological processes of stress to find freedom, resilience, and greater well-being.
