On Monday July 3rd, join us for the Barbecue Dinner Train and Fireworks. Ride in style on board one of our Illinois Central dining cars as you enjoy an American favorite. Bring your lawn chairs and be the first passengers to choose your seats at the fireworks viewing area. Passengers on board will be treated to this delicious meal prepared by Holly's Country Kitchen of Monticello aboard one of our historic dining cars. After the fireworks show, the train will return to the Wabash depot. This exciting train ride departs at 5:30 PM from the Wabash Depot in downtown Monticello. Ride in style as you enjoy one of the following entree options: Smoked Beef Brisket Pork Ribs BBQ Chicken Breast Each entrée will be accompanied with Mac and Cheese, Green Beans, Coleslaw, and dessert! Beverages available will be Sweet and Unsweet Tea, Lemonade and Water. Enjoy your meal in the jovial atmosphere of an historic railroad dining car! Tickets for this event are available for $75 per passenger. Please note that due to capacity constraints of the dining cars, parties of less than four may be seated onboard with passengers not necessarily from their party. If multiple members of a party desire to sit together, all tickets must be purchased in the same order. Please note this train runs rain or shine even if the City of Monticello cancels the fireworks show.
