Sharkk Heartt will be performing her unique electronic pop originals from both her discography and her artist in residency at Volcano National Park. Ticket price includes dinner. Drinks will be available for purchase. Lara Ruggles is an activist, singer/songwriter, and electronic music producer performing under the stage name “Sharkk Heartt”. Since 2011, Ruggles has released an EP, two albums, and four standalone singles both as Sharkk Heartt and under her own name. In 2017, Ruggles shared the stage with multiple Grammy Award winner LeAnn Rimes as part of her “Today is Christmas” tour; in 2021, her music video for “Work Fires” from her album “Wars Our Mothers Fought” won both the Tucson Idea Funding Creative Battle award, and “Best Music Video” at the Apex Film Festival; and in 2023, her music video for the single “How to Love” won Best Pop Video at Apex. As a crew member, Ruggles toured extensively (and sang the encore) with Gregory Alan Isakov from 2016-2018, and as a musician, she has toured with her own band, as a solo artist, and several times with activist and spoken-word poet Andrea Gibson, most recently joining their “Right Now, I Love You Forever” US tour in February 2020. In 2023 Lara was selected as the National Parks Arts Foundation’s artist-in-residence for the month of May at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
