Are you an educator who wants to integrate creative media arts into your classrooms? Teachers, after-school providers, librarians—anyone who works with youth—explore the language of visual arts and project design to engage students in core content standards as well as VAPA and NCA standards. Build students' STEAM skill sets, communication, collaboration, and self expression. Our two hour participatory workshops introduce you to digital media arts, Visual Thinking Strategies, and the methods and strategies to integrate media arts into your core subject lesson plans. Leave the workshop with a ready media arts project aligned to the workshop's core theme, integrated with digital photography. Note: You can attend one or all four workshops! Register for each separately. Workshop #4: Geometry, Photography, & Me How does math impact my everyday life? Students learn the fundamentals of photography through the principles of geometry while exploring such ideas as composition and elements of design. Students create a mixed media project demonstrating their knowledge of mathematical and photography concepts learned. About Outside the Lens Outside the Lens activates and amplifies voices of youth through photography, filmmaking, and media literacy, catalyzing change within themselves and their communities.
