This Latin crossover band has taken on many musical shapes and forms. Aside from performing throughout the U.S. the group has performed in parts of Europe and South East Asia. The band has also found success in having its original songs placed in major motion pictures and T.V. Barrio Latino is led by music producer/composer Andy Gonzales (vocals, bass and guitar). It also consists of the extraordinary entertainer/ singer/songwriter Freddie Duran (vocals, guitar and sax), the fiery and exciting Barrio Latino percussion section consisting of Andrew Gonzales Jr. (vocals, congas/bongos and hand perc.) and Xavier Acosta (drums and vocals). Last but not least we round out this ensemble with the brilliant songwriting and smooth style of Ernie Nuñez Jr. (vocals and guitar). On occasion the band is also graced by the angelic voices of MC1 Nashville singer/songwriter Revele and her daughter, Gio. The band is proficient at playing Cumbia, Ranchera, Salsa, Latin Jazz, Romantic, Santana, R&B, Country, Classic Rock, Reggae, etc. Barrio Latino is available to perform in Festivals, Concerts, Fiestas and any event that calls for a Latino/Crossover Band. Gilbert Esquivel: Gilbert Esquivel is a unique voice in stand-up comedy, able to entertain an audience of inner-city youth to a room of senior citizens without missing a beat. His ability to ad-lib has made him a favorite of many television producers to warm-up studio audiences for such shows as American Idol, Dancing with the stars, Star Search, The Tom Joyner television show, The Daytime Emmy’s and many more. Gilbert started his stand-up career at The Ice House comedy club. He’s also appeared on, BET’s Comicview, Laffapalooza, Que Locos and the Tom Joyner Show. Gilbert won the first Latino comedy search just two years into his comedy and went to perform on such stages as the Apollo Theater to Ceasars Palace Las Vegas. He has also in many churches, prisons and universities throughout the country, sharing his experiences of growing up all over the United States as a Migrant worker.
