Food gardening is good for you! It provides exercise, reduces stress, and delivers fresh, nutritious produce. In this lecture and demonstration designed for beginners, you will learn how to prepare for growing vegetables and herbs in containers, raised beds or in the ground. You’ll learn when and how to start from seeds or transplants, the basics of proper watering and pest management, how to nurture your plants to maturity, and when and how to harvest and enjoy the results of your efforts.
This talk will be presented by Water and Environmental Center Director, Dave Stockdale and Asst. Director, Drew Trogstad-Isaacson. Stockdale is a horticulturalist who has a B.S. in Agriculture and his M.S. in Biology. Trogstad-Isaacson is an environmentalist who has his B.A. in Geology and M.S. in Natural Resources with a Graduate Teaching Certificate in Environmental Education.
