We will meet at 9:00 AM at the Rite Aid in Ashland and make our way into the Monument from there.
This Eventbrite is for the Saturday Hike ONLY, register for the Friday Night Talk HERE .
This Saturday hike will be the first opportunity to apply the principles of Wildflower ID learned in the Friday Night Talk. During the hike we will be stopping to identify wildflowers along the way with the help of Liz Landreth, our resident “Flower Floozy!” The hike will take place on the Pacific Crest Trail toward Pilot Rock. It is highly recommended that you attend the Friday Night Talk before this hike as we will be focusing on field applications without general instruction.
This hike will be led by Liz Landreth, aka "Flower Floozy"! Liz has been conducting wildflower walks for adults and kids off and on for over 15 years. She began with Sonoma County Parks Dept and, since moving to Ashland, with the Ashland Hiking Group, Southern Oregon Land Conservancy and Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. She is an amateur botanist with emphasis on intriguing stories about plants and our relationships with them.
Friends of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument is a nonprofit organization and our mission is to support the protection, restoration and conservation of the monument through service, advocacy and education. Our Hike and Learn programs are designed to introduce the public to different topics and locations within the Monument. Hike and Learns are co-created with local scientists, historians, artists, students, and more.
