Join us October 21st from 8am to 3pm for a full day learning about the magic of gardening. Four speakers will cover the following topics: Trends & TechniquesWhen To Break The RulesHerbs & Flowers - A Garden MarriageThe Legacy in Gibson CountyLight breakfast and lunch is included. Many vendors will be set up for your shopping pleasure! SESSIONSRules of Garden Design: When & How to Break Them — Dr. Laura Deeter, Ohio State University Dr. Deeter is a full professor of Landscape Horticulture and Horticultural Science at Ohio State University. She has received many awards for teaching and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ohio Landscape Association. She travels extensively talking about gardening. Edible Ornamentals: The Marriage of Use and Beauty — Debra Knakpe Known as “The Garden Sage,” Debra is passionate about all types of gardening, sustainable garden design, and native plant habitat creation. She has written many books and maintains the website: www.DebraTheGardenSage.com. Legacy Taste of the Garden and Historic Lyles Station — Denise Jamerson Meet Denise Jamerson, a 5th generation farmer, grew up in Lyles Station. Together with her husband, John, and sons, DeAnthony and Jayson, she began “Legacy Taste of the Garden” to encourage others, especially youth, to take an interest in farming and food production. Western Kentucky Botanical Garden—A Tristate Gem — Cathy Schmidt Owensboro, KY, is home to the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden, a project that began with a donation of land and a group of Master Gardeners eager and willing to take on the project. The gardens feature both display gardens and artistic works. Many programs for the community are hosted at the site. Green River Area Extension MG, Cathy Schmidt, is a member of WKBG board who will introduce you to these lovely gardens.
