Music in the HighlandsMomma's Broke Friday, September 8th, 7:00pm - $35.00 The beautiful outdoor amphitheater at the Highlands Center for Natural HistoryFriday's concert with Momma's Broke is rain or shine. As many of you know, the Amphitheater is covered and sheltered, but should our wonderful monsoon rains be excessive, we will move the concert into the beautiful Kieckhefer Classroom - The natural woods and soft earth tones of our indoor space create a warm, comfortable environment. Vaulted ceilings and clerestory windows allow natural light to fill the room and provide views of the forest. “Mama’s Broke may seem traditional, but they are new and unique voices in modern, rootsy Americana that must be heard.”- FOLK RADIO UK
“When Keeler and Maria come together and sing, it’s magic, and they reaffirm how nourishing music can be”
- NO DEPRESSION
Mama’s Broke, based out of New Orleans and Halifax, craft a sound that artfully weaves old-time, Quebecois, blues, punk, Celtic, Balkan and doom metal into a hypnotic and energizing tapestry of original music. They are in the running for 2023 Canadian Folk Music Award ‘vocal group of the year’ and have also been nominated for a Juno award (Best Traditional Roots Album of The Year).
