The 2023 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series presents SambaDá with opening artist Ecliff Telford on Friday, April 21 from 7 – 9 p.m. at Webb Field at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Complex. The performance is free. Please bring your chairs and blankets. Food is available from Billy’s Cheesesteaks, Pepere Joe’s Chowder Wagon, and Kona Ice Ocala. Fun field games and activities with the Ocala Recreation and Parks recreation vehicle. Each concert in the series features a local non-profit organization working to create art accessibility in our community; tonight’s featured non-profit is Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida. HEADLINING ARTIST: SambaDá SambaDá musically unites the Americas and Africa, drawing from percussion-based styles of South and Central America and Senegal, and blends it with that good-old funk, rock, and reggae backbeat of North America. The band consists of seven members: Papiba Godinho (guitar/cavaquiho/vocals/composer/songwriter), Dandha de Hora (vocals/percussion), Anne Stafford (sax/flute/melodica/vocals), Will Bates (drums), Will Martins (percussion/vocals), Abel Damasceno (percussion/vocals), and Elvis Aeron (bass). For almost 25 years, SambaDá has been mixing contemporary sounds with the roots of Brazilian culture to develop a samba-reggae-funk with a universal appeal! OPENING ARTIST: Ecliff Telford Ecliff Telford is a local Ocala singer and songwriter with influences ranging from soul, R&B, country, and blues music.
