Breaking the Silence is a groundbreaking documentary that sheds light on the untold struggles faced by LGBTQ+ service members. Witness their incredible sacrifices and the risks they took to serve their country in silence, and discover the hidden history of our nation's military. This film will leave you moved, inspired, and eager to learn more. Join us on May 11, 2023, from 6 pm to 8 pm at the University of Oregon’s Redwood Auditorium, EMU 214, for a screening of this powerful film. A Q&A session will follow the screening, with a guest speaker in attendance. This event is open to LGBTQ+ veterans and their friends and family, veterans, advocates, and allies who want to understand better how to serve and support the LGBTQ+ veteran community. But that's not all! Concessions will be provided, including free popcorn, candy, non-alcohol refreshments, and hot dogs available for purchase from a local vendor. Early registrations receive one free hot dog, and early registration with a free hot dog will close on May 5, 2023. However, regular registration will be closing on May 9, 2023. Hot dogs will be available for purchase while supplies last. Join us for this powerful event to honor our LGBTQ+ veterans and service members and to continue the fight for visibility and acceptance for all LGBTQ+ folks.
